Abouzar Jahanshahi

Chartered Civil Engineer and Director of the Engineering Design Consultancy, Richter Associates Limited, Abouzar has a wealth of experience across all sectors of the construction industry with high emphasis in Rail, Highways, Bridges, Buildings and Tunnelling projects across the UK and overseas. 

Abouzar’s background is Major Principal Contractor and over the years he has become specialised in temporary works design and geotechnical numerical modelling, with particular interest in value engineering and alternative construction methodologies.

He has been a key player in the successful delivery of critical temporary works associated with some of most prestigious projects in the country including the £800m New Street Station redevelopment in Birmingham, £1.0bn Google HQ in London King’s Cross, as well as numerous permanent works projects for Network Rail and Highways, including smart motorway network.

Abouzar is very passionate about Civil Engineering and participates an active role for the Temporary Works forum (TWf)  promoting best practice in the Construction Engineering industry, in addition to this he is the lead SCE, guiding ICE graduates to become the next generation of Civil and Temporary Works Engineers.  In his spare time Abouzar enjoys working out in the gym, running and mountain climbing.
